Ruby’s Accident

I crashed Ruby, my 15 year old Corsa, this morning. It’s the first time I’ve crashed into another car and have been driving for over 3 and half years. Poor Ruby’s bonnets a bit dent, the lights are facing the wrong way and she’s scratched to bits. The other car is badly damaged down the right side. I was driving up one of the side streets near the flat, when crossing the road I looked left and saw a silver car parked up, looked right, then went… straight into the side of blue car. The lady driving had come out of a garage hidden behind the silver car then put her foot down.

I am absolutely gutted about my car, Ruby is my first car and was a gift from my Mum and Dad for my 21st. I have managed to get her driving but not too sure how long she will last and have a feeling that the insurance company will write her off if the damage is too much. So after getting over the initial shock I’m starting to panic about how I’m going to be able to afford my cars £600 excess. I’m feeling very sorry for myself sat my desk when a friend unaware of what has happened this morning sent me this. Quite simply it put everything in perspective.
